Sandhill Cranes of Brookville Lake

My home is alongside Brookville Lake in Indiana. Each winter, thousands of migrating Sandhill Cranes lay claim to the mudflats in the northern part of the lake created by lower winter water levels. Known as the Watchmen of the Swamps, these Sandhills frequent the surrounding fields by day and seek the safety of the lake bed at night. This series is a work in progress, focusing on the magnificence of these birds on the ground and in the air.
